About

I’m a product designer based in Cape Town, South Africa. I spent the first 8 years of my career in marketing and digital design, where I developed a passion for crafting well-designed, user-friendly websites. In 2016, I transitioned to product design, expanding my expertise in UX and embracing the opportunity to create solutions grounded in real user needs. Talking to users and understanding their challenges has deepened my appreciation for the meaningful impact of thoughtful design.

Some things about me:
🧩 I love to be challenged, whether that be trying to find user-friendly solutions to complex design problems, traveling to countries where English is not always the first language, wrapping my head around a new board game or hiking to the top of a mountain.
‍
💭 I’m curious, about people and places, and that drives me to try to understand why humans interact with the world around them in the way that they do.

✨ I love trying new things, from learning a new language, to trying new foods or hobbies.

About me

2007

Graduated from AAA School of Advertising with a diploma in Visual Communications specialising in Graphic Design.

2008

Started working at Flick Visual Foundry as a junior designer.

2009

Worked at Gloo Digital Design as a digital designer for two years.

2011

Swapped out my Mac for a backpack and went backpacking solo around South America for 7 months.

2012

Did some contract freelance work before taking a position as an Art Director and Designer for online food and wine magazine Crush Online.

2013

Moved on to Maven Agency where I worked as a digital designer for 2 years.

2015

I left Maven to do some more travelling and then went back to doing some contract freelance work again.

2016

Made the switch to product design and accepted a position at Absa, where I stayed for 7 years. The role shifted from UI design to a mix of UX and UI design.
